Our Roles

Extradition

The AGC is Singapore’s Central Authority for extradition matters. AGC officers of the International Affairs Division handle and process all requests for extradition in accordance with the provisions of the Extradition Act (the Act) and any applicable extradition treaty or arrangement.

Requests for extradition

Singapore can extradite fugitives to declared Commonwealth countries as well as foreign States with which Singapore has an extradition treaty in force, in accordance with the provisions of the Act and the applicable extradition treaty.

Transmission of requests

Completed requests may be sent by the Central Authority of the country making the request via diplomatic channel:

In cases of urgent requests, a copy of the request may also be sent by fax to +65 6538 9000 or by email to AGC_CentralAuthority@agc.gov.sg. However, the original request should still be sent via diplomatic channel.

Countries with which Singapore has an extradition treaty should also comply with any relevant provisions of the treaty with regard to the transmission of requests.

Queries in relation to extradition

Representatives of foreign Central Authorities may also direct queries regarding extradition requests to the correspondence address below and fax number above, or by email to AGC_CentralAuthority@agc.gov.sg.
