The piece sheds light on how the Attorney-General’s Chambers’ (AGC) practice of proposing sentencing frameworks assist the Courts in criminal matters. While the judge is the one who ultimately decides the sentence, such frameworks also helps AGC to take a consistent and principled approach when proposing sentences for similar offences.
