TODAYonline article "Nightclub couple who trafficked Bangladeshi women jailed 5.5 years, fined in first such conviction"

In the first prosecution and conviction of labour trafficking under the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act, a married couple was each sentenced to 5 years’ and 6 months’ imprisonment and a fine of $7,500. The case involved the couple’s exploitation of female victims who had come to Singapore to work as dancers at a nightclub the couple operated.
