Speech by Deputy Attorney-General Ang Cheng Hock S.C. at the Litigation Conference 2024

Good morning. I thank the Law Society for the invitation to address you this morning. I trust you had a fruitful first day of the conference exploring the opportunities and risks of our technology-enabled future. As you would all be aware by now, this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Litigation Conference. Over the past decade, the conference has been a key platform for dispute resolution practitioners to keep up with trends, broaden our skill set, and build our network. On this milestone edition of the conference, I wish to take this opportunity to reflect on how the practice of litigation has evolved in recent years, and the shifts in mindset and approach that are needed for litigators to thrive in our civil justice system today.
